I feel your pain. Seriously, I do. I just had to get reading glasses (full lens readers) to do the handwork that goes along with being a seamstress. My vision has gotten less near-sighted over the last couple of years, so I got new lenses recently. Which STILL don't allow me to actually see the handwork that I have to do clearly, because I like to be able to see to drive. When I take the glasses off, things are more clear, but spending an hour or so like that with my astigmatism uncorrected leads to headaches of an annoying sort: not bad enough to really take anything for the pain, but bad enough to make me crabby for a few hours until they go away. We happened to have $$ left in our reimbursement account, so I traipsed off to get new lenses. Which make me seasick if I have to look anywhere other than right in front of me -- like, I need to look over to the side of my sewing area to get my snips. *sigh*

The good news is that I'm gradually getting used to them, and they do the job I got them to do -- I can see what I'm doing assuming I have enough light (hard to guarantee in Minnesota at this time of year) and I don't try to see past my work.

It sucks getting old! ;)
