Look who’s back!

Back home

And cranky as ever.

I still have to do a little force-feeding if she’s not going to eat on her own, but she is eating the cat treats they sent home with me.  Slowly, but she’s eating them.

I don’t even want to think about how much money I just forked over to spring her from the vet.  Damn cat should be shitting gold bricks with all that money in her.

Welcome home, Sugarplum! Eat, please–now’s not the time to express your catitude.

    w00t!

Back when I had a geriatric rabbit (naturally, when I was an impoverished grad student), I spent way more for her medical care than my own. Of course, I had crap health insurance and she had no health insurance. But if you love them and they’re sick, it’s not like you’re going to forgo a vet visit.

Here’s hoping Sugarplum’s appetite comes back soon.

Oh kitteh. Doug is glad his girlfriend is home.

Aww poor baby — glad she’s back! I took my kitties to the vet for the first time today, and they cost $600(!). When all parties are healed, we should have a kitty play-date.

congrats, zuzu! (after all the fuss, sugarplum’s attitude in that photo is hilarious–all eyes askance & “yes? you are bothering me why, exactly?”)

Awww, hooray! Welcome home Sugarplum! So glad she’s out of the woods.

She ate some cat treats, and some kibble, but wasn’t too interested in more. So we did a force-feeding, which wasn’t too bad. Right now she’s on the sheepskin, all curled up sleeping with her paw over her face.

She hasn’t quite worked out how to get up onto the bed (that blue table behind her in the photo is meant to be a stepping-stone to the bed) after having tried to just jump up there earlier and missing because she can’t jump too well after surgery.

It’s funny; I’m watching her groom herself, and it occured to me that I hadn’t actually seen her do that between when I first noticed she was sick until I brought her in to the vet.

Now I have to go out into the cold and wind to go get her some Pepcid.

Awwww, she’s beautiful! I wish her a very quick and speedy recovery.

    Safe and speedy recovery, Sugarplum.

I’m so glad you have your kitty back! Best wishes for Sugarplum’s full recovery.

Yay! She’s home. Aww… poor baby. Her little paws just break my heart. I think the fact that she’s cleaning herself again is a good sign. A sick cat won’t usually do that.

It’s like the last picture, only with shaved wrists. Even though she has an excellent poker face, I bet she’s very happy to be home. Hope she’s all back to normal soon.

Aww, the shaved paws get me every time!

I hope she feels better soon.

Hooray! I’m glad she seems to be on the mend.

Her expression is just too awesome.

Poor baby. Glad she’s doing better. I had a cat a few years ago who got sick and we had to do the whole force feeding thing and we had to hydrate her at home (inject her with water). It’s just awful. Hope she gets back to feeling normal soon.

I have a friend online who named her cat “Evil Cat” and always appended a number at the end of the name that represented total vet bills to date. I think he was up to Evil Cat 236 or something the last I knew.

Awww, her poor ittle pawsies!!!! She’s beautiful. I missed what a roller coaster just the last couple of days have been with her. I hope all is upward progress now. Hugs and scritches to both of you, respectively.

And she pooped not too long ago! A little wobbly getting to the bathroom, but she made it.

And she’s decided that hiding under the bed at feeding time is hilarious. Though I guess it’s warm under there with the heat on full blast and the windows shut. Normally, I have the windows cracked so my contacts don’t dry onto my eyes, but for her sake, I’m keeping them shut.

As a result, I’m not actually getting much food into her, but she is showing more interest in eating on her own.

Yayyy Pooping! Yayyyy Eating! Yayyyyy Sugarplum!
