I hate it because 1, the address bar saves all sorts of crap as opposed to only the things you typed in it, and 2 it doesn't support all of my addons, which is the only frickin reason I switched to firefox in the first place. Jesus. It's so frustrating.

I finally made the switch to Camino. I'm not happy with the lack of drop-down history in the address bar or the inability to view history in the back button. In addition, I had a hell of a time downloading the proper version -- no matter how many times I downloaded 1.6.3, it kept telling me I needed to update, until I just nuked my older version and re-installed everything.

But it works. A hell of a lot better than either version of Firefox.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4, and I've never been impressed with how Firefox runs on that OS. It's a huge resource hog, and though I've been told version 3.0 is better, it hasn't been noticeably so in my experience. Firefox has good functionality, but that doesn't do you much good when it hangs and/or crashes 20% - 30% of the time.

Firefox is fundamentally a Windows browser. If you like Mozilla products, consider using Camino if you're on a Mac. Unlike Firefox, it's written specifically for Mac OS and runs much more smoothly. It's not perfect, and it doesn't have the functionality that Firefox has, but it still works better than does Firefox.

It seems to work relatively well on my work computer, which runs Windows 2000. Which fooled me into thinking it was some kind of problem with my Airport, since I switched right about the time that I found and started using the Airport.

Annoying!

And now I find out they're not going to support Version 2 past December. Well, I'll have to take my chances, then, because I'm not, not switching back to FF3 unless and until they make it just as good as v.2.

Aha, I knew that's what you were talking about over at Shakesville!

I totally agree with you. I didn't have any major problems with any of the 2 iterations, but 3...gah. It kept crashing over and over on startup, and I couldn't do a thing with it. (The forums at the time were filled with similar complaints.) I finally went back and downloaded 2.15, since upgraded to 16, and have been as happy as a clam.

I'm going to wait until 3.1 comes out before trying again. And even then I'll check the forums for the first week or two, just to see what the comments are.

What about Chrome? That could be an alternative.
