Yea.. confrontation is never easy. We recently fired a babysitter, a teen who lived down the street and sat with the kids occasionally. She had been great until one day she wasn't -- she had her boyfriend over and (long story short) H ended up with a dislocated knee cap. And, maybe worse, she told H not to tell us he was hurt.

Considering her behavior and utter lack of responsibility, you would think she'd be contrite. Instead, she gives us dirty looks whenever she drives by. I'm waiting for the egging to start soon.

People have a hard time living up to their shortcomings. Change the locks :)

I'm actually planning to make do without any dogwalker for the month or so until my closing; I figure that the dog will get walked sooner if I do that, even with my 45-minute commute each way.

Also? I love Junebug, but she is a GIGANTIC PAIN IN THE ASS when it comes to new people coming to the apartment. I don't know if I want to go through the trauma of breaking in a new person for only a month or so, just to have to get another one when I move.

But if I do change dogwalkers, I'll def. take the change-the-lock advice. A woman I know from the dogpark was walking dogs while she studied for her licensing exam recently, then turned all her dogs over to another person. As long as it's not the one I had before the current one (who gave me such grief when my previous dog attacked me), then I'll go with the person she trusts.

Zuzu,

Fire her and change the damn lock. Dogwalkers run into each other all day; it will take her about two nanoseconds for her to figure out that you hired someone else.

I'll probably lie and just tell her my case settled and I'm out of work, so I don't need her.

I hate confrontation.

Oh, let her go. You've already tried to talk to her about it; threatening her just means she'll be mad AND have access to your house. If the thought of poor Junebug waiting all day for her to show up doesn't motivate her to get there on time, I don't think anything you say to her will.
