Zuzu,

I can only echo the others in asking that you not give up. I have always found your comments refreshing and to the point. Even though you may not be able to change many peoples opinions, you do help those of us Clinton supporters who feel beleagure in the overwhelming Obamian blog universe. In my book, that is no small achievement. Plus, if nothing else, your comments serve as witness, now and for the future, that not everyone was caught up in the Obama wave;some people kept their wits about them.

I am 55 and have been voting Democratic since 72 through the few good years and many bad years where we never had a chance. No matter what happen, I was always proud to be a Democrat, and a Liberal one to boot. This election has really sour me on the Democratic Party. The way the Clintons were treated has been disgusting. I was going to hold my nose and vote for Barack for the Supreme Court nominees, but lately, with the voter disenfranchisments in Fla and Mi, I am beginning to wonder why bother...I am thinking about leaving the party as it doesn't seem like my party anymore. Since when do Democrats disenfranchise voters? I thought only Republicans did that.

I thought these were things we were supposed to care about no matter who is the target.

Yeah, not so much. I wonder what makes the difference w/Clinton - is it because she's a powerful woman, so that makes people think it's okay to attack her with any means possible?

Anyway, I really appreciate your blogging, here, at Feministe, and in the comments at Shakesville. It's an injection of calm rationality into what can be raging comment storms.

Don't give up. I check both sites, just in case you do run off for a while, though. :)

For what it's worth, I think you were dead on with your post on Feministe.

Um, I don't actually *do* my food or my pets, in case that wasn't clear.

Even if I've learned to empty out anal glands recently. It's just business.

Which version of Star Trek?

I did see your comment, and I appreciate it. I will email you for further insights that can't be shared publicly.

I'm glad I have this place to retreat to when I feel like screaming. I can do food or pets, or what have you.

Speaking of food, I made a few more recipes from Veganomicon today; seitan cutlets (which I wasn't terribly impressed by, though I really liked their chickpea cutlets) and vidalia onion sauce, which was TO DIE FOR. Seriously, just caramelized onions with some wine, olive oil, mustard and maple syrup. But so damn good.

Don't do it -- see my comment at Feministe, obvs.

When I got sick of that kind of bullshit I always reverted to link farms and quizzes. It kept people coming to the blog, helped build a little positive chi among readers, and gave me time to step away emotionally without breaking the habit or posting something on a regular basis.

Seriously, nothing breaks some tension like finding out which member of the Star Trek cast typifies you as a person. :P

Huh. I usually get just the posts from Feministe through my feed and rarely bother to look at the comments.

Kind of glad that I don't.

It's just so weird, you know? People who didn't give me any problem when I, say, defend Michelle Malkin from some of the racist, sexist shit that liberal dudes sometimes throw at her are now handwaving the sexism when it's directed at Clinton. I've actually seen very little coverage of this or of the "Stained Blue Dress Day" at feminist blogs.

I'm fucking tired of it. Though it feels like I have a snit every six months or so and leave Feministe.

I don't blame you. Sometimes we get sick of it and we opt out and go do some different good somewhere else when we bloody well feel like it, and not before.

Good on you for taking care of yourself.
