This is what I get for not reading here as regularly as I should (elder family and winter pipe drama be d***ed).

I have friends that just left Vancouver, as well as friends that are still there/Vancouver, WA/Seattle that may be able to help with real estate. And possibly jobs.

Plus I'd like to talk to you about document review, but I'm not sure I have an email address for you. Please email me at the personal address I've left here.

Not sure whether to cheer or sympathize, so take either (or both!) as you please. From what you said about the one partner, though, I'm glad you are getting out of there. Some jobs simply aren't worth the stress/hassle.

Best of luck finding a new gig! You are a talented woman -- something will show up. We'd be sorry to lose you to Canada but hey! The internet is an amazing thing! ;)

BTW: I was for both mooning AND flipping the bird on your way out. With a good rant to keep things upbeat. ;)

Good luck, zuzu. A smart person like you should be able to land on her feet. Take care.

Good luck, although I have to say that moving to Vancouver would terrific, too. I have friends there, including people in real estate.

Good luck, zuzu...sometimes what appears to be a less optimal situation turns out to be better than we thought. I'm facing a decision myself in which the sensible thing to do is not really what I want to do, so I may be in similar straits.

I've already got at least one document review lined up, possibly two (the second may be Enron-related, which means I'd have to bow out, since I've already done one for another firm). Either way, I'll be able to keep my head above water, and probably make more money than I'm making here (each job pays less in hourly rate than I'm getting here, but I'd get more hours -- a lot more in one case, plus time-and-a-half there. Which really makes me think it's Enron).

yes! I'd love that! If'n anyone possibly has any connections who might light a fire under anyone with my resume, wonderful!

I just got an email back that there's a 1-3 month doc review staffing up for Monday, which is good. What sucks is the hours, but OTOH, it would wind up being more than I was making before, by a significant percentage. Just no weightlifting, and working 10 hours a day 6 days a week.

Sorry to hear that the timing was not what you wanted, zuzu, but sounds like you wanted out anyway. And for good reason. Fingers crossed that something else great (like fighting for civil liberties, ahem) will come your way.
