Sunday breakfast blogging: tea and toast

Still sick.  I crawled into bed last night around six and only got up to walk the dog, flush my sinuses, and brush my teeth.  I’m getting low-level waves of nausea, sinus headache and hot flashes.  Which could be from the nausea, or could be fever from a sinus infection.  I will probably not know, since I have no health insurance and can’t afford to go to the doctor this week.

The sinus wash helped a bit with the headache, so I’m going to try it again today.  Nothing really icky came out, though, so I wonder if there’s an infection there.

No picture, because you know what tea and toast looks like.

Sorry to hear it, zuzu. Get well soon.

No health insurance is a bite in the ass. I myself will be working the next few months in a job I don’t really like because I’ve got some medical/dental issues to be taken care of soon, and I need the insurance coverage.

Man. It sounds like something’s going around Brooklyn. We had some friends up from DC, and they left this morning with some nasty bug. I hope you get better, fast. Conservative twits are making their escape without being fearsomely flayed by you, Z.

You already have the tea, so I’ll just offer my sympathy. I hope you feel better soon.

Migraines can sometimes be mistaken for sinus troubles — could that be the problem? Try some Excedrin (regular will do, you don’t have to pay extra for “Excedrin Migraine,” which is the same damn stuff) along with a ginger supplement or some ginger tea for the nausea.

Nah, I’ve never had migraines. It’s very definitely a sinus problem, since it moves around with the position of my head. I’m also prone to sinus issues.

I did just remember that I have a property tax rebate check waiting to be cashed, so maybe I can afford a clinic visit after all.

Weird as it sounds, ask the clinic if they’ll give you a discount if you pay cash. Sometimes dealing with the insurance companies is such a pain that they’re willing to do that if it means they get paid immediately. (That’s assuming you have independent urgent care clinics the way we do in L.A.)

Hope you feel better soon, zuzu. By the way, I made your excellent, excellent pancakes for breakfast on Sunday. Wow! Maybe next Sunday, I’ll try your tea and toast (Grin).

Take care of yourself, hon. Know that it’s only $65/visit at DOCS at 34th Street–34th right off of Park; look for the blue awning. Take care!
